Calvin Klein describes it as “created as a counterpoint to the original Calvin Klein scent” ? the women’s Obsession, which launched in 1985 and was composed by Jean Guichard. For men. A citrus opening moves quickly into an aromatic, resinous heart of lavender, sage and myrrh, settling into a warm amber-and-musk base grounded by sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli. Calvin Klein’s own copy calls it “compelling, potent, powerful? a masculine blend of botanics, spices, and rare woods.” Longer note lists circulate for the 1980s formula; the pyramid above is the one Calvin Klein publishes for the Eau de Toilette it sells today.
