Ralph Lauren’s own descriptor is “a powerful, woody ambery Parfum for men.” ” The house describes it as “a powerful, indulgent, and unforgettable scent, designed to be consumed without moderation.” The flacon is an Art Deco-inspired silver rhombus whose “lacquer evokes the smooth, elegant notes of precious cognac, fading seductively from black to warm amber” ? visibly different from the New York Eau de Parfum’s chrome bottle with a black rhombus. Notes for staff: the Ralph’s Club line runs to SIX distinct products ? Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, Parfum, Elixir, New York Eau de Parfum and New York Parfum ? so confirm which one a customer means. This Parfum and the New York EDP have materially different compositions: the Parfum has cypress, cardamom, the cognac-aged oud accord and cashmeran with no vanilla; the EDP has green mandarin, moss and Madagascar bourbon vanilla with no oud. They also carry different RL product codes and different prices in the same size. The cognac here is an accord in the oud, not a listed spirit note. Ralph Lauren publishes no launch year and credits no perfumer, and neither is claimed here.
