Saharienne Eau de Parfum from Yves Saint Laurent, part of the Le Vestiaire des Parfums signature collection; Saharienne was one of the five fragrances that introduced the collection in 2015. Perfumer: Master Perfumer Alberto Morillas. Unisex. A neroli-and- musk composition YSL bills as “sultry neroli.” A bright bergamot-petitgrain opening moves into a green neroli-jasmine-sage heart and settles on a musky vetiver-patchouli drydown, with creamy musks YSL likens to Saharan dunes. The name refers to the saharienne, Saint Laurent’s safari jacket, first shown on the couture runway in 1967; it became iconic through a 1968 Vogue shoot with Verushka in the African savannah, and Saint Laurent wore it himself in 1969. An earlier, separate Saharienne Eau de Toilette was released in 2011 with notes of citron, bergamot, mandarin, white petals, orange leaves, galbanum, blackcurrant buds, pink pepper and ginger.
