Eau de Cologne from Acqua di Parma, created in 1916 ? the Maison’s founding fragrance and, in its own words, “the original Italian Colonia since 1916.” Acqua di Parma describes it as the emblematic Eau de Cologne that symbolizes Italianity, capturing the dynamic spirit of a modern, metropolitan lifestyle: a bright citrus opening that gives way to an aromatic lavender-and- rosemary heart, closed by warm woods. All Acqua di Parma products are made in Italy by traditional craftsmen. Presented in the Art Deco transparent glass bottle with black cap and the house’s yellow cylindrical hat-box. Also in 50 ml and 180 ml. Acqua di Parma’s own product page gives Colonia no gender designation; Bluemercury lists it as a men’s fragrance. The wider Colonia collection now also includes Colonia C.L.U.B., Essenza, Intensa, Pura, Il Profumo, Il Profumo Millesimato and the 500 ml Colonia Splash.
