SUNG, from the Canadian fashion house Alfred Sung, launched 26 September 1986 by Riviera Concepts Inc. after almost three years of development. The house was founded in 1980 in Toronto by designer Alfred Sung, who came to Canada from Hong Kong, together with Canada’s Mimran family; the beauty and fragrance collection is currently licensed under Elizabeth Arden Inc. A women’s fragrance. The juice was formulated in Paris by the fragrance house Givaudan, and the bottle was designed by Pierre Dinand. The house describes it as a floral bouquet that “commences with a highly diffused top note of sparkling citrus, entwined with green floral nuances,” with heart notes that are “full- bodied and a blend of beautiful feminine floral, highlighting Jasmine, Iris and Muguet white flowers,” while “subtle musk notes and precious woods add depth and richness.” Alfred Sung on his own scent: “My scent is very pure and understated. It’s not heavy; it’s light, which I like, yet the staying power is long.”
