Eau de Parfum from Argos Fragrances, launched 2019. Perfumer: Christian Petrovich. The name means “Thrill of the Chase”; it is dedicated to Artemis, Greek goddess of the wilderness, wild animals and the hunt, and to the myth in which she turns a mortal hunter into a stag to be run down by his own hounds. Unisex. Argos classes it oriental-woody, and it wears that way: a green, gin-like juniper and herbal sage opening over the dry hay-and-tea bitterness of mate and flouve. Iris and tonka soften the middle without making it sweet, then tarry birch and supple leather bring in the smoke. The overall effect is bracing and slightly feral ? forest at dusk rather than a polished leather.
