Extrait de Parfum, concentrated at 30%, from BDK Parfums, launched 2022. Perfumer: Mathilde Bijaoui. Part of BDK’s Collection Parisienne. A more concentrated reading of Gris Charnel, the 2019 Eau de Parfum by the same perfumer. Unisex. The signature opening is cardamom and green fig over delicate black tea; the extrait runs darker, smokier and spicier than the original, with cardamom, vetiver, sandalwood and tonka carrying the dry-down and fig stepping into a supporting role. BDK classes it as an amber woody.

Fragrance Notes:

• Top Notes: cardamom essence, black tea extract, fig accord
• Heart Notes: iris absolute from Morocco, cistus essence, Bourbon vetiver from Madagascar ? “Bourbon” here is the vetiver’s growing origin, not a whiskey or spirit note; there is no alcohol accord in this fragrance
• Base Notes: patchouli essence from Indonesia, vanilla absolute from Madagascar, sandalwood essence, American cedar, tonka bean absolute
