Eau de Parfum (23% oil concentration) from Amouage, launched 2009. Perfumer: Randa Hammami. Part of Amouage’s Main Collection, still current on amouage.com. For men. Amouage describes it as a woody amber fragrance evoking the legends of the ancient Silk Road journey from China to Arabia. The house lists a six-week ageing protocol ? three weeks maceration, three weeks maturation. A dense spice-and-incense opening over an oud, leather and castoreum base; the animalic finish is the reason this one splits a room.
