Eau de Parfum from Aedes de Venustas, launched 2014. Perfumer: Bertrand Duchaufour. Unisex. Inspired by clouds of burning copal drifting over Tulum, on the Yucatan Peninsula ? Mayan incense rising from age-old temples, lashes of sea spray, whiffs of the jungle. Because copal resin cannot be used as a perfumery ingredient, three different extractions of frankincense stand in for it, running from top to base and making up an extravagant 30% of the formula. Salty, ozonic and mineral up front, then spicy and resinous.

• Top Notes: frankincense, salt, ozone
• Heart Notes: cardamom, patchouli
• Base Notes: myrrh, tonka bean, amber
