Eau de Parfum from Byredo, launched 2008. Perfumer: J?r?me Epinette. Unisex. In Byredo’s own words it wakens the dream of a lifestyle close to nature and of innate nomadism ? the scent of fresh soil, deep forests and campfires. The opening is crisp and outdoorsy, with vibrant citrus, cool juniper and sharp pine needles and a hint of smoke; warm elements then flicker beneath the cool ones like the embers of a campfire, and golden amber, creamy vanilla and sandalwood carry it into a warm, soft skin scent. One of the most popular fragrances in the Byredo line and a fixture of the brand’s own best-sellers listing. Made in France; vegan formula. A separate Gypsy Water Absolu de Parfum also exists ? a spicier, woodier reinterpretation with bergamot, black pepper and pine needles absolute over orris butter, carrot seeds and incense absolute, finishing on vanilla absolute, white suede and ambroxan.
