Eau de Parfum from D.S. & Durga, launched 2008. Perfumer: David Seth Moltz. Unisex. The brand’s debut fragrance and the one the house credits with putting it on the map, built in the founder’s early experiments with homemade tinctures and older perfumery methods. An herbal vetiver drawn from the western territories ? American sagebrush, flowering white thyme and prairie switchgrass over Haitian vetiver, which brings sweeter and smokier tones than the Java variety. Dry, almost crackling, and green rather than sweet. The companion Cowgirl Grass is a separate composition, not a flanker.

• Heart Notes: sagebrush, basil, rose otto
• Base Notes: vetiver, grass, ambergris
