Description

Eau de Parfum from Chanel, launched in 1984. Perfumer: Jacques Polge, then Chanel’s in-house perfumer, who described it as “an Orient which begins and ends in Venice.” For women. Named in tribute to Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, it is, in Chanel’s words, a mysterious, provocative ambery scent that expresses the intensity of Mademoiselle’s personality and gradually reveals its contrasting notes. Chanel’s published composition for the current Eau de Parfum is: A fragrance of this age has been reformulated: the note list Chanel publishes today differs from the one documented by Now Smell This in 2009, so customers who know the vintage should be told the current bottle is not identical to the 1984 original. Now Smell This places Coco alongside YSL Opium and Est?e Lauder Cinnabar in the big ambery-oriental style of the era. Also available as an Eau de Toilette. Distinct from Coco Mademoiselle (2001, Jacques Polge) and Coco Noir (2012), which are separate fragrances, not versions of this one.
