Perfume from Clive Christian’s Original Collection, sold by the house as “1872 Masculine.” For men. 20% perfume concentration, built from 219 ingredients. The house is the revived Crown Perfumery Company, established in London in 1872 by William Sparks Thomson ? the same year Queen Victoria granted it the use of the likeness of her crown, which still sits atop every bottle. Clive Christian resurrected the company as Clive Christian Perfume in 1999 and launched the Original Collection that year, drawing its formulas and ingredients from the Crown Perfumery archives; the emerald green bottle is a nod to the original house. A woody citrus. Peach and aromatic lavender bridge the fruitiness of petitgrain and pressed citrus with rosemary, black pepper and nutmeg; the heart is a bold herbaceous punch of clary sage lifted by jasmine and neroli; arboreal cedarwood and sandalwood temper the richer surface notes at the close.
