Part of the Nero Collection, and named for Edesia, the Roman goddess of feasting whose banqueting tables groaned under the weight of what she served. Unisex. This is a vanilla built on contradiction: the opening is lively citrus and spice with a bitter-almond twist, but the vanilla absolute underneath is dark, resinous and faintly salty rather than sugary. Cumin and coriander push against that creaminess, while heliotrope, ylang ylang and rose centifolia lend polish, and the woods, vetiver and white musks give it a leathery finish. A gourmand with teeth.
